Diane Beamer

Diane Beamer was the NSW Assistant Planning Minister and the ADI Site is in her portfolio. She is still the Minister for Western Sydney.

Diane Beamer is also the Member for the State seat of Mulgoa and was a former Mayor of Penrith City Council.

Diane Beamer has been a strong advocate for the development of the ADI Site long before she became a Minister.

Any lobby group that is serious attempts at some stage of their campaign to bring its concerns directly to the Minister who makes the decisions.

ADI RAG had made numerous requests to meet with Diane Beamer to discuss issues with the development but with no success, she refused to meet with us leaving this task to her Chief of Staff, Michael Meagher, or her lowly office staff.

Ms Beamer, along with other western Sydney politicians, was asked to speak at a public meeting organised by ADI RAG at the St Marys Memorial Hall. Ms Beamer again avoided public scrutiny by claiming she was unable to attend because of prior commitments. She again sent her Chief of Staff and someone called her Western Sydney advisor. (who also happened be the media advisor for David Bradbury the Labor Candidate for Lindsay)

Following her non-attendance at the public meeting she was taken to task by John Laws on his radio show John Laws interview with Diane Beamer.wma Ms Beamer claimed she could not attend because of Parliamentary duties. John Laws must of done his homework as to what matters were on the Parliamentary agenda because he revealed that there were no matters requiring Diane Beamers presence at Parliament House.

ADI RAG kept the pressure on Diane Beamer and we organised another public forum specifically for her to explain why the Carr Government could not stop the development of the ADI Site (See above image). Again she tried to get out of it but due to media pressure she bravely attended. At that meeting she agreed to meet privately with ADI RAG.

We met with Ms Beamer, her Chief of Staff and a DIPNR Bureaucrat raising with them numerous concerns. Diane Beamer living up to her arrogant reputation left the meeting refusing to address our concerns claiming them to be ridiculous. Read the issues we raised that Diane Beamer said were ridiculous. This hostile response from Ms Beamer and her staff towards ADI RAG and those opposed to the ADI development has been the norm.

Diane Beamer has on her staff Greg Davies, a Penrith Councillor and former Mayor. This means that the NSW Assistant Planning Minister has a direct link to decision making processes within Penrith Council a Council that is the consent authority for a huge percentage of DIPNR's greenfield developments.
