Visitors to the ADI Site last year discovered an extremely rare plant, one not listed in any official surveys of the site so far. The small plant is only known to exist in about half a dozen places in Western Sydney and the Illawarra. The population on the ADI site would be its most western known extent. The picture on the left was taken of this plant growing on the ADI site in early August 2002. Listed as endangered under the Federal government's EPBC (Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation) Act 1999, Pimelea spicata has declined in numbers due to the massive growth in housing in the area. This little plant is expected to become extinct within the next 20 years. Development on the ADI site will help ensure that this timetable is met. If such a plant has not been noticed in official surveys, what else is present on the ADI site?
